MonoLana

Thick rugs with pronounced texture – soft, fluffy, and warm underfoot. Each rug is handwoven using beautifully marled wool yarn, a rescued surplus from the Huttwil spinning mill. The result is a unique and sustainable product. Available in three light weft colors and with either a black or white warp made of durable cotton yarn.

The name MonoLana is derived from the single-color weft (mono – single, alone) and the Italian word for wool – lana.

The structure and rhythm of the pattern can be customized individually.
Since the weft yarn is a leftover stock, MonoLana is available in three weft color variants:
Light beige – Beige – Light grey-blue.
Rugs with a white warp appear soft and subtle, while the black warp emphasizes the pattern and gives the rug a striking character.

You can choose from the following finishes:
– Woven hem
– Simple knots
– Twisted fringes

I would be happy to weave a rug that fits your space perfectly. The maximum width is 155 cm, but it is possible to sew two rugs together. As setting up the loom is time-consuming, I offer a discount when you purchase two or more rugs in the same width.

I am currently planning to produce rugs in fixed sizes for sale at exhibitions and markets – these have not yet been woven. If you order a MonoLana with a width of 1 meter or less now, I can offer you a fixed price for your custom order.

Do you have any questions or would like personal advice?
Don’t hesitate to get in touch – I look forward to hearing from you!
